The Appeals Process
After the initial disappointment of losing a case at the district court level, it is important not to give up. Conversely, if you have won and your opponent appeals, you must protect your hard-earned victory. The appeals process was designed to make sure that your rights are properly defended.  A guilty verdict on some or all charges does not mean the case is over. The Appeals ProcessThe United States legal system is based on the premise of the "whole truth," yet often that truth is unequally applied. Prosecutors have an extensive staff of lawyers, investigators, police, crime labs and other experts. You need to be able to challenge their case with equal force and superior effectiveness. Yet time is short. Your appeal must be filed within a few days of your conviction.

We are strong advocates for individuals whose rights may have been violated. If you have been convicted, or if you are looking for help for a family member, there are legal options available.
